Be specific about style
Instead of "painting", say "oil painting in the style of Vermeer" or "loose gouache illustration". Named styles and artists give the AI a strong reference point.

Add lighting details
Lighting changes everything. Try "golden hour light", "soft studio lighting", "dramatic chiaroscuro", "neon glow" or "natural window light" to transform the mood.

Specify a camera angle
Add "overhead flat lay", "close up macro", "wide angle landscape", "eye level portrait" or "low angle looking up" to control your composition.

Ask for changes
Not happy with the result? Ask for what you want: "Make it warmer", "Add more depth" or "Change the background to a forest." Many tools remember the context and refine it.

Use the edit feature
Many tools let you select part of a generated image and edit just that area. Great for fixing a face, changing colours or swapping out a background element.
